Each month students and staff members will be "in the spotlight" as a way to celebrate them for being great ambassadors of the MPSD Mission, Vision and Core Beliefs.  Thank you for your service to the MPSD!

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy reading historical fiction, traveling with my family – Jeff, Andy and Jack, bike riding and walking our dog Rocket.

How long have you worked in the MPSD?
This is my 27th year in the MPSD.  I started my career teaching first and second grade at Jackson for 15 years.  I taught 2nd grade at Monroe for 10 years before switching to third grade.

What is your favorite book?
I have many favorites, but one is the Kommandant’s Girl by Pam Jenoff.  One of my favorite picture books to share with students is Miss Rumphius.

What is the best advice you ever received?
My Dad used to say, “If you’re going to do something, do it well.”

How did you decide to go into education?
There were alot of teachers in my family, including my grandma, mom, and older sister.  I first talked about being a teacher when I was in 2nd grade.  I have always liked learning and wanted to share that with others.

What is your favorite movie?
The best movie I’ve seen recently was “The Greatest Showman.”

Who is your role model?
My Dad was the biggest role model.  He modeled honesty, hard work, kindness and faith in our family.  I try to live by his example every day.
