My name is Carol Graff. I am the Title 1 reading teacher at Monroe. When I was an elementary student, I had a lot of difficulty learning to read. I can still picture the little room where I received extra reading help. I also remember the names of the students that went with me, My parents read with me every night, even when I did not want to. My two younger brothers learned to read quickly. It was not easy being the oldest child and having my younger brothers make fun of me. By the time I was in fifth grade, something clicked and I read because I wanted to and not because I had to. Reading is one of the activities that brings me great joy. My goal is to help students love books and to experience the joy of reading!
